Compared

The best TV show tracker apps for Android, compared honestly.

Six apps people use to track TV shows and movies, checked against their own websites, store listings and release notes. We make Trovie, so it is on the list — and so are the places where another app is the better pick.

How we compared

Every fact below comes from each app’s own website, help pages, store listing or release notes, read on 29 September 2026. A “—” in the table means we did not find the feature there, not that it cannot exist. We left out what we could not confirm — ads on some apps, prices that differ between sources — rather than guess. Trackers change fast: if something here is out of date, tell us with Send feedback at the bottom of the page.

The apps

Trovie

Best if you want episode tracking plus help understanding a show — a Character Map for every season and an AI that answers questions without spoiling what you have not seen.

On: Android and the web

We make it. Free with ads; Trovie Pro removes them. Imports TV Time, Trakt, IMDb, Letterboxd and Simkl. No iPhone app yet — it is coming soon.

Trakt

Best if you use an iPhone as well as Android, or want the many apps and media-centre plugins that connect to Trakt.

On: Android, iPhone and the web

Basic stats are free; the year in review and all-time stats are part of VIP. Collaborative lists are listed as in development.

Letterboxd

Best if you mostly watch films and want a large community logging and reviewing them.

On: Android, iPhone, the web and Apple TV

Tracks films, miniseries and TV movies — not returning series. Its stats are part of Pro.

Simkl

Best if you want free watch stats and Up Next on the web.

On: The web, with an Android companion app

Collaborative lists need a PRO or VIP plan; its AI features are recommendations, on the paid plans.

Bingers

Best if you liked how TV Time worked — a TV Time co-founder launched it in August 2026.

On: Android and iPhone

Episode ratings and comments, favourite-character votes, and imports from about 30 formats.

Refract

Best if you want free collaborative lists — up to 20 people — on iPhone and Android.

On: Android and iPhone

Added collaborative lists on 9 September 2026. Comments sit on episode pages; its AI recommends titles from a description of your mood.
