Trakt alternative
Looking for a Trakt alternative? Bring your history to Trovie.
Trovie is a free TV show and movie tracker app for Android. It imports your Trakt export — watch history, ratings and watchlist — and carries on from there: episode ticks, Up Next, stats, streaks and lists.

Checked against each app’s own website, store listings, release notes and help pages on 29 September 2026. “—” means we did not find the feature there. Trovie’s free tier shows ads (Trovie Pro removes them), and Trovie is on Android and the web — there is no iPhone app yet (it is coming soon). Something out of date? How to move from Trakt
- 1
On trakt.tv, open Settings, then Data, and choose “Export now” under Raw Export. The JSON export is free — no VIP needed.
- 2
Wait for the email with your download link, then download the ZIP. Do not unzip it.
- 3
Open trovie.co/import, sign in with Google, choose Trakt and upload the ZIP. Episodes you have already ticked stay ticked, and you can undo the whole import for 7 days.
- 4
Get Trovie on Android — your history is waiting there, with Up Next already filled in.
Trakt has used the same catalogue as Trovie since 2023, so your seasons and episodes line up exactly. More detail in the Trakt export guide.
When Trakt is still the better fit
Trakt has apps for Android, iPhone and the web, and many other apps and media-centre plugins connect to it. If you rely on those connections, or on an iPhone, Trovie cannot replace that yet: it is on Android and the web, and its free tier shows ads.

Questions
Can I import my Trakt history into Trovie?
Yes. Export your data from Trakt (Settings → Data → Raw Export — the JSON export is free) and upload the ZIP at trovie.co/import or in the app. Your watched films and shows, ratings and watchlist come across, and because Trakt and Trovie use the same catalogue, episodes match exactly.
Does Trovie sync with Trakt?
No. It imports a Trakt export once rather than syncing continuously. You can import a newer export later; episodes you have already ticked stay ticked.
Is Trovie free?
Yes. Tracking, stats, streaks and badges are free, and the app contains ads. Where the optional Trovie Pro upgrade is offered, the app shows what it includes and what it costs before you pay.
Is there an iPhone app?
Not yet — the iPhone app is coming soon. Trovie is on Android today, and this website works in any browser, including the importer at trovie.co/import.
Pick up where you left off.
Free with a Google sign-in, on Android now — and your Trakt history can come with you.
