Shared watchlists

A shared watchlist for movie night, couples and friends.

One list that everyone you invite can add to. Every row shows who added it — and, if you switch it on, who has already seen it — so choosing what to watch together starts from the same list.

How a shared watchlist works

  1. 1

In your Library, tap New watchlist and give it a name and an emoji.

  2. 2

On the list’s screen, invite people with a link or a short code — straight into WhatsApp, or anywhere else you can paste it.

  3. 3

Everyone on the list adds titles from any film or show’s Save to… sheet. Each row shows who added it.

  4. 4

Switch on who-has-seen-it, and each row also shows who has already watched it — so nobody sits through a rewatch they did not ask for.

What people use one for

  • Movie night: everyone adds a few picks through the week, and you choose from one list.
  • A couple’s list of shows to start together.
  • A club — an October horror list, a Best Picture marathon — that everyone fills in.

Private, shared or public

You choose, list by list, who can see each watchlist.

KindWho sees it
Just yoursNobody else can see it
SharedEveryone you invite can see it and add to it
PublicAnyone on Trovie can open it, like it and save it to their own Library

And it is a full tracker

The list is the start. Trovie tracks every episode and film you watch, lines up what is next in Up Next, counts your watch time and keeps a conversation on every title — so once you have picked, the rest of the night is in the same app. Everything Trovie does.

Questions

Can two people add to the same watchlist?

Yes. A shared watchlist is one list that everyone you invite can add to, and each row shows who added it.

Do the people I invite need Trovie?

Yes. Everyone on a shared list signs in to Trovie with Google. Trovie is on Android, and the invite link opens in any browser.

How do I stop an invite link from working?

Get a new code for the list. The old link and code stop working on the spot.

Is it free?

Yes, shared watchlists are free. Trovie Pro makes watchlists bigger — more lists, more people, more titles. Where the optional Trovie Pro upgrade is offered, the app shows what it includes and what it costs before you pay.
